Luxury Eco Pods in Perthshire

Our luxury Eco Pods are the first of their kind in Perthshire, built to a high specification using sustainable methods and materials. The innovative design is eye-catching, with sweeping curves and generous proportions. Inside you’ll find features you might not expect from a pod: a comfortable king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with shower, modern furnishings, mini-fridge, TV, wi-fi and tea and coffee making facilities. Two of our pods also have their own private area to the side of the pod, with a top-of-the-range hot tub and a private bbq/firepit.

We provide all bed linen and towels, and we bring a bespoke breakfast to your pod at a time of your choosing. All you need to do is arrive and relax!

Each Eco Pod has a private verandah where you can enjoy uninterrupted vistas of picturesque Perthshire countryside, including our local hill, Craig Rossie. You might spot deer, rabbits, birds of prey and the sheep who live nearby.

Our Location

We’re incredibly lucky to be located in Perthshire, the Big Tree County that’s known and loved for its landscape and wildlife, as well as its restaurants and shops. Whitemoss Lodge enjoyed a former life as a golf clubhouse and today the area retains the open aspect and sense of space that is so appealing in today’s busy lives. It’s a beautifully secluded and quiet spot, yet close to many amenities. From here you can easily explore the outdoors, take a relaxing hotel spa, soak up some culture or have a city shopping day.

Breakfast

One of the things that makes Whitemoss Lodge such a special and relaxing experience is that we bring breakfast to your pod, at a time that suits you. We offer fresh fruit, cereal, milk, fruit juice, yoghurt and your choice of a hot filled roll (egg / bacon / sausage / veggie sausage / haggis… and much more!), hot croissants or porridge. There are complimentary tea and coffee making facilities in your pod, but you can also order a cafetière of coffee to go with your breakfast. We cater for many dietary requirements (vegan, gluten-free, etc) so please let us know when you book if you have any particular requests.

Treats, lunches and special occasions

We are happy to supply you with romantic treats and chocolates to make your stay extra-memorable – we can even decorate your Eco Pod if you have a special occasion to celebrate! Just ask us for details when you book.

Dog-friendly

We believe, as you do, that your dog is part of the family and we welcome your canine companion to holiday with you at our Eco Pods. There are plenty of places to roam, but we do ask that they are kept on the lead, especially during lambing season (our neighbours are of the woolly variety!). What’s more, there’s no extra charge for bringing your dog(s).

Checking in and checking out at Whitemoss Lodge

We welcome you to check in from 3pm. We want our guests to feel completely at home at Whitemoss, so on the day of your arrival, we’ll text you to let you know which pod you have been allocated and that your key has been left in your pod for you, which means you can go straight there and start relaxing right away! You don’t have to fill in any forms, pick up a key from us or get any instructions – although we’re here if you need us so please do not hesitate to call.

We ask our guests to check out by 11am.

The Whitemoss Lodge eco commitment

We are fully committed to caring for the planet, saving energy and reducing waste. Here’s how we do it:

- Our Eco Pods are built sustainably and are super-insulated (here’s where they came from), so they heat up quickly and retain their heat – they’re amazingly cosy in winter;

- We use refillable toiletries by local supplier The Scottish Fine Soaps company– this reduces plastic waste and travel miles;

- Our special eco-showers deliver just the right amount of water without wastage;

- We have built a mini recycling centre on the site for guests to use and all of our breakfast containers and packaging are fully recyclable or reusable;

- We source local food where possible, buying our meat from local butcher Simon Howie, and as many eggs as possible from the nearby farm;

- We use eco cleaning products wherever possible;

- Our pods have low-electricity bulbs and the bathroom lights automatically switch off when not in use.

We’re always looking for ways to build on our current eco commitment and we are planning to implement more green practices – watch this space!
