Update 10/03/21

There have now been further announcements and confirmations, which mean that we now feel we can confidently say we will be reopening on 26th April!

While the travel ban in Scotland will have been lifted by then, there may still be some local restrictions in place that may prevent you from travelling depending on where you are coming from.  We would just ask all of our guests to make themselves familiar with the relevant restrictions and only book if they are allowed to do so.

In the meantime we would like to say how much we are looking to see you all – here’s to a great summer!

Update 25/02/2021

I jinxed it last time by saying it would be the last one….

Sadly we are no longer able to open up at the beginning of April as we had hoped, and it has now been announced that we will need to remain closed until 26th April at the earliest, with further announcements regarding what restrictions will come into place after that date to take place in 3 weeks.

We will keep you updated, but again we are so sorry to all of you who had booked with us for breaks at Easter and throughout April.  We so appreciate everyone’s support – here’s to a really super summer in Scotland!!

Update 03/02/2021

We’re reeealllly hoping this will be the last one of these we have to write….

While there are a lot of positive steps forward with this pandemic at the moment, as all of you know cases remain high and the decision has now been taken to further extend the lockdown here in Scotland until the end of February.  There is also still so much uncertainty surrounding how long it will be after then until hospitality is allowed to reopen.

It is therefore with great sadness that we have taken our lead from some of the bigger hotels and venues in the area, and decided to close here until 1st April 2021.  After which time we are hoping that restrictions will have been lifted and we can move forward into the summer!!!

We wanted to send special thanks to our amazing guests who have had bookings during this time and have moved, rescheduled, cancelled and rebooked time and time again!  We thank you all so much for your continued patience and support.

See you all soon – we hope you are looking forward to getting away as much as we are looking forward to welcoming you! x

Update 20/01/2021

Hello again!  As a result of yesterday’s announcements, we are now required to remain closed here until 15th February at the earliest.  So sorry to all of our Valentine’s guests who were hoping for a romantic weekend away!

As usual we have emailed all guests who were in our diary for these dates, but if anyone has any further queries then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

We hope it won’t be much longer until we can see all of our lovely guests again. x

Update 05/01/21

Sadly I could probably copy and paste this post from last March…!

Due to developments with the Coronavirus situation we are required to close here until 31st January. We are hoping that this closure will not go on any longer than that, but will keep you posted on here and also email you directly if you have a booking with us.

So sorry to all the bookings that we have had to cancel.  We hope you all stay safe and we so look forward to seeing you all on the other side of this continuing craziness!

The Whitemoss team xx

Update 26/12/20

Sadly, due to the Tier 4 restrictions coming into effect across the whole of Scotland today, we will be forced to close down completely until 16th January 2021.

We are so sorry to all of you who had bookings with us for Hogmanay and post-Christmas getaways.

As I understand it, the situation will be reviewed regularly by the government. We are hoping that it will not go on any longer than 16th January, but should anything change, we will be posting updates here and will of course be notifying our bookings directly.

I am sure we all feel the same right now, that we can’t quite believe this is where we are again, but rest-assured we will be here on the other side ready to welcome you for a well-deserved break!! : )

Update 12/11/20

As Perth and Kinross has now been moved from a tier 2 area to a tier 3, I know that many people will be wondering what this means… including us!

Have a look at the paragraph below from the gov.scot website which I think explains it best:

“All holiday accommodation (Hotels, B&Bs, self-catering, caravan and camping sites) can stay open in line with sector guidance for tourism and hospitality. However, tourists should not travel into, or out off, a Level 3 area for holidays or visits. Exceptions for essentials travel includes those who must travel for work, education, health or for those attending weddings or funerals which requires an overnight stay.

Those living in a Level 3 area can still use holiday accommodation in their area but should not stay in the same self-catered accommodation with another household.”

So basically, we will remain open and will still be welcoming guests as usual from within the Perth and Kinross area, as well as those travelling from outside the area for any of the above reasons. It is just up to our guests to look at where you are coming from, and your reasons for travel, to check that they fall within these parameters.

If you do decide that you need to cancel or move your booking at this stage, then please rest assured you can do so at no charge.

If you have any further questions then please don’t hesitate to call and we will do our best to clarify!

Our up-to-date COVID policy

We fully open here at Whitemoss Lodge and are delighted to be seeing all of our lovely guests again – allbeit in a socially distanced manner! However, we just wanted to take the time to provide all of our guests with some more information about what we have been doing here at Whitemoss Lodge. We have made some important changes that will help keep us all safe at this time.

Self Check-in

In the interests of social distancing we will be operating a self-check in system. Each guest will be informed by text on the day of their booking which eco pod they have been allocated, your key will be left in the pod door and you will be invited to go straight to your pod on arrival. If for any reason you do not receive the text, then don’t worry, a list will be posted on the door of the main reception with each guest’s surname and pod number (if you would prefer to be left off this list then just give us a call).

We are still available to help you with anything that you may need at any time, either when checking in or at any point during your stay, we simply ask that you call or text our main number 07508525649 and we can chat to you over the phone. Please do not hesitate to call! There is also plenty of information that may be useful to you in the Guest Information folders in your pod.

Increased Levels of disinfection

Our pods are always cleaned to an extremely high standard, but at this time we will be taking extra special care to fully disinfect all frequently touched surfaces and objects (e.g., tables, countertops, light switches, door knobs and cabinet handles) using strong disinfectant solution. The pods are also ventilated for as long as possible (usually more than 2 hours) between guests.

All soft furnishings (e.g., chairs) are sprayed with special fabric disinfectant between each guest. All decorative cushions and bedspreads are changed after each guest. The linen that is used on the beds is sent to us by an external linen company and is therefore washed at extremely high temperatures between uses, is plastic wrapped and has not come in contact with any linen previously used by other guests.  We make sure that the whole pod is cleaned and disinfected before any new linen, towels or guest supplies of any kind are brought in to the pods to prevent any cross contamination.

Face coverings and social distancing

We are very lucky here that the pods lend themselves quite naturally socially distancing! Everyone has plenty of space and most encounters take place outside.  However, should you need to come to the door at reception for any reason, we just ask that you ring the bell then stand back.  We shall now be answering the door wearing face coverings, and should we need to approach you or your pod for any reason then we will wear a face covering at this time too.

Food

If you are concerned about what to do for dinner, then we can assure you that all our local takeaway restaurants are still open, and some deliver straight to your pod.

If you are lucky enough to get good weather then we can also provide delicious barbeque packs for use in our designated barbeque area containing locally sourced meats and barbeque coals. Just ask us in advance for further details.

We will still be providing breakfast delivered to your pods as usual, and we can assure you that all food is always prepared to the highest standards of hygiene here. The only change is where we would normally knock and wait to give you your breakfast, we will now knock to let you know it is there and then leave your basket on the veranda for you.

We hope that this has reassured you that we are doing everything we can to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our guests. If you have any further concerns or queries, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

UPDATE 24/06/20
